FOOD FRENZY FRIDAY

Before I post this Fridays recipe I have a friend who wanted to get the word out that she is selling her house. If you know anyone who is looking for a house in Logan this is where you can find out about it. http://4sale-logan.blogspot.com/
Here is a picture of it.

Sausage Marinara Sauce
This recipe is very yummy!
1 lb Italian sausage
1 med. onion thinly sliced
1 green pepper julienned (if your like my sister who didn't know what Julienned means...it is sliced in strips like you would for a fajita)
1 tsp. olive oil
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 cup chicken broth
5 tablespoons tomato paste (1/2 can)
3 to 4 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp. garlic

Cook sausage with onions and peppers. Add everything else and heat through. Serve over noodles. Enjoy

Have a great weekend. I'm excited, I'm headed to see my Family. My niece Samantha is getting baptised.

Joined at the Hip!

This is Andrew with his best friend Jaxen. I thought that girls were attached but man...these boys mope and complain (his mother has mentioned he does this too) when they can't play together. I swear Andrew goes through withdrawals when a day passes that he doesn't get to play with him. I'm glad he has a playmate but at times its frustrating how much he asks if he can come play. At one point he could entertain himself but now he needs to have friends over. Do any of your kids do this? Danika seems to have calmed down from asking to have friends over but I'm sure with summer coming and her not seeing her friends in school it will start up. I don't mind having friends over but I want them to be content to play at home by themselves and with their siblings also!

Goodbye Guys

Well we have decided that it is time to let Remi and George go. They have been fun pets but the kids no longer play with them. It makes me sad to go downstairs to see them clinging to the cage wanting some attention. When we got them at Petsmart the workers told us they should be played with AT LEAST a half an hour a day. Danika may play with them for five minutes (if that) when she feeds them in the morning. They need a family who will spend more time with them. I posted them on freecycle and this one family was so excited. They already have a rat but she is getting old. They said her kids love to watch TV with her on their laps. I guess that's our problem...I don't want them all around the house "Marking" their territory, we make sure they stay in one room. If not then all I would picture is rat urine everywhere (my apology if you are in the middle of eating something while reading this). Anywho when I told her she was welcome to have them she was so excited. So goodbye Remi and George its been fun and we'll miss you but I'm excited that I won't have to clean your cage anymore.

FOOD FRENZY FRIDAY

I had a hard time looking for a recipe today, I have a ton of recipes for cookies and other goodies. So I thought I would do a main dish then a dessert. For the main dish...Poppyseed Chicken. This recipe is probably one everyone has but it is a yummy one!

Poppyseed Chicken

Cook 4 chicken breasts and cut into chunks
1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1 1/2 cups sour cream
Mix this all and put in a pan
Then mix:
1 tube of Ritz crackers
3/4 cube butter melted
1 Tbs. poppy seeds
Place this mixture over the top of the chicken mixture.
Bake at 350 until bubbled and brown on top. Serve over rice. Or I have tried putting the rice in with the chicken mixture and thats yummy too. If you haven't had this before and try it let me know what you think of it. My kids love it, and I like the crunchy ritz crackers on top.

I got this recipe from Michelle Falabella, she used to live in our ward. It is sooooooo yummy!

Carmel Cake

German chocolate cake
14 oz bag craft carmels
1 can evap. milk
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1/2 bag chocolate chips

Combine cake mix and butter and 1/3 cup evap milk. Stir till it holds together. Press half into a greased casserole dish. Cook for 6 min. at 350 while that cooks mix 1/3 cup evaporated milk and carmels in a pan and melt.
Once the cake is done put the chocolate chips over it and the carmel mixture. Add the rest of the cake mix and bake 15-18 min. Enjoy, as always let me know if you try it out! I don't do well at checking the previous posts so just post on the most recent one, THANKS! HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!

Tagged

I got tagged from my friend Nat to take a picture of the Fridge. I must say her fridge looks a lot neater than mine. Cute Danika wanted to be part of the picture. Its full of miscellaneous magnets and papers for Danikas school. Our home/visiting teaching assignments along with other friends numbers and schedules. Of course you have to have the array of children's drawings on the Fridge portion. At the top corner there is a picture that makes me laugh, its a guy in a meeting pointing to a pie chart and he says, "This is how much pie I ate while making this chart". I now tag, Tina, Emily, Shauntae and whoever else feels like taking a picture of their fridge.

Were Flying!

We have known we would be going to Missouri to visit Kevins family for months now. We had talked about flying but thought it was too much moola. Well after talking to my Mom and Kevins Dad, and others who thought we would be nuts to drive, we bought tickets. The last time we drove it Jacob was four months old so he slept a lot! Luke was the one who had a hard time staying in his seat for that long. Not this year....THANK YOU STIMULUS PAYMENT! Needless to say the kids are excited to go on a plane and I'm excited that I won't have to worry about a one year old screaming for 21 hours in the car.

FOOD FRENZY FRIDAY

Food is disappearing like crazy in our house. You know the phrase "eating us out of house and home"? I have used that more than once in the last month. The other day while we were eating I had just barely got my plate ready when Jacob was ready for seconds. That boy just scarfs food! I teased Kevin that we should crush some diet pills into their food (you know the ones that are suppose to make you feel full) then maybe they wouldn't eat as much. Of course I would never do it but man can they eat! I should deal with it since it will get worse as they get to be teenagers. Anyway here is the recipe for FOOD FRENZY FRIDAY:EGG ROLLS I like to make these, they are so fun to wrap. They make a lot so we usually have my sisters or others over. Ingredients:
Egg roll wraps
Cooked Rice Noodles (I used ramen last time just to see how it would work and it wasn't bad. Its a lot cheaper to use them too!)You can also use rice but its harder to keep off your hands and things while your rolling. I liked this recipe because I'm not big into cabbage.
Chopped carrots
Chopped celery
Chopped onion
Ground cooked sausage.
Add everything in a bowl with a couple eggs and mix. Roll about 1 Tbs. mixture into wrap. To seal shut, wipe with the egg from bowl. Fry at 350 till brown. My friend Tina Mihu that gave me the recipe said she likes sweet chili sauce with them. It is good but plain ol' soy sauce is good also. If you have a different kind of egg roll that you make please send the recipe, I love to try different things. If you want to come over and see how I make them, let me know and we can make night of it.

The power of duct tape

I once saw a bumper sticker that read..... Duct tape is like the force. It has a light and dark side and it holds the world together. This wonderful invention is also holding our high chair seat pad together. I had been using packing tape but it just kept ripping. Kevin revamped it and now we have the new and improved high chair, take a look. That should last a couple more children eh? he he

Ahhh Man

Some days I feel like a failure as a parent. When I have the sudden urge to slap the bottom of a child and loose control of my temper that's when I feel like a failure. I was grateful that yesterday was Mothers day and that we were in sacrament where of course you can't swap a child on the behind. I don't know what I was thinking taking six children to church with me. Four my own and the other two were a friends down the street. Lets just say I heard nothing in Sacrament. Jacob was the worst, he is getting over an ear infection but he was still cranky. I was so tempted to send him up to Kevin on the stand. I'm the type that thinks "I am a women, I can handle this myself" so asking someone to sit with me would be like saying "I can't handle these crazy children because I'm incompetent would you be willing to suffer with me?" I'm sure it will get better as the kids get older, it is mainly the youngest two. It makes me feel better to look at these kind of pictures and then I feel like I can handle the situation. Please feel free to share any stories that would help me feel better, like you accidentally fed your baby dog food or you picked up the wrong child from a park he he.

ANNIVERSARY, Blessings and Food Frenzy Friday

First of all I have to say I LOVE YOU to my wonderful hubby! Its our Anniversary today. We have been married for eight years, man it has gone by fast! I love you sweetie thanks for all you do! This picture was taken at a BYU game we went to while we were dating.Last night I skipped an hour of my Spanish class and went with my sisters to their Stake Women's Conference, Michael Ballam spoke. It was such a spiritual night. His son was born with Spina Bifida and he discussed about the blessings he received from that. He also talked about the 13th article of faith and how we should be seeking things virtuous, lovely and of good report. It made me think about what I bring into my home and all the blessing I've been given. All around a wonderful night, thanks guys for inviting me. Okay now onto the Recipe. This is a simple Ham stir fry dish that my kids really enjoy plus Its quick

Chopped Ham
Onions
Celery
Peppers
Rice

Thats all you need, just fry the veggies first, add the ham and then the cooked rice last. Add some soy sauce and enjoy.

Lunch Box Notes

I don't know why I started this, but now that I started I can't stop. Danika reminds me if I forget to put one in with her lunch. Most of the time they say the same thing....we miss you while your at school....we love you....and be a good girl. I used to write them out and once in awhile Kevin would write her a note. I found a few sites that have helped on those days when I have to hurry to make it and get her out the door. Here are a few if your interested- http://www.kidprintables.com/lunchboxnotes/
http://alenkasprintables.com/lunchboxnotes.shtml
http://www.gingerbreadnook.com/backpacknotes/
I want her to know that I'm thinking of her while shes gone and hopefully she'll be more apt to behave, but who knows. Do any of you do lunch box notes?

Well almost, Brandon is still downstairs working on it right now but he is putting the grout in so almost! I took these pictures last week when he started. Here is before he began with just the backer board. They ran out of quarter round so we had to wait till they ordered it. I guess it had to come from California. Here is the picture I took with it almost finished. Okay so you may not find this as exciting as I do but we have been waiting to do this for a year. Our basement is now finished!!!!!!! I told Kevin I get to be the first to take a shower he he.

WOO HOO JAZZ

I'm writing a quick post to appease Tina :) Last night we went to the Jazz game and it was GREAT! Way to go Jazz! If it hadn't been for the crazy people behind us the game would have been perfect. My sisters stayed the night with the kids so that we wouldn't have to drive back since the game didn't start till 8:30. Before the game we went to a yummy Mexican restaurant called the Red Iguana, I had heard about it from a bunch of people in my Spanish class. Have any of you been there?
