Tennis Lessons

Kevin really wanted the kids to try tennis lessons this year. We signed Luke, Andrew and Danika up. They are enjoying it a ton. I love to hear how excited they are when I pick them up. I was a little worried on the first day. There were almost 20 kids. I think a lot of them went to a different session or up a level because now there are only six. Lukie is so little out there, he is the smallest one. They have learned a lot, and now that they all have their own rackets we can go play as a family.

They looks so little on the court.

New Toy

Yesterday there was a yard sale down our street. The family is moving to China and needs to sale everything. We checked it out and Kevin's eye was automatically connected to a boat.
Kevin: Can I get it? It can be my birthday present
Sandra: Your birthday isn't until August.
Kevin: So it be an early birthday present?
Sandra: yeesh. Your giddy like a little boy in a candy store, go ahead.

It's a little North Pak hard bottom boat. It's nice that it's blowup so it's won't take up a ton of space. We took it out on first dam last night. The kids had fun with it. Kevin can't wait to take it fishing.

Jacob sleeps

I swear this boy falls asleep at the table once a week. The kids sure have fun with him. I tried to upload the video clip three times and it kept saying an error had occurred. Is anyone else having problems with videos? The kids would move his mouth and make up funny things, pretty comical.
I couldn't help myself, I had to get a picture....I think it's funny that he has his hand down his pants. He whacked his head three times on the table and didn't wake up. Funny Jacob.

Better finish up

I figured I better quickly put the rest of the California pictures so I can get to posting (yet another) funny video of Jacob asleep at the table.
We were able to go to the San Diego Temple. Unfortunately they were under construction so it was covered in scaffolding. Kevin's parents watched the kids so we could do a session.
If you are ever in San Diego I would highly recommend going to the Mormon Battalion Historic site. They had the neatest tour. These pictures are actually screens and the people talk, the kids were amazed. You could pan for gold at the end of the tour.

I don't know where she learned it but BriLynn nows hula's. It's so funny, I need to get a video of it. Here she is hula dancing to the music when we walked through old town.
We went to the Sea Life aquarium at Lego-land. The kids had so much fun. They had a puppet show which Kevin and I thought was lame but the kids liked it. It was fun to see creatures made out of Legos. So many interesting creatures, some I had never seen before.
This picture is Danika in a replica of a mermaid purse. Sharks grow in them. They had some little purses with sharks growing in them....man that would be awesome to watch them hatch.
Well, that raps that up!

Going on Faith!

First of all I hope that all the wonderful Fathers in the world know how appreciated they are. I know I have taken my hubby for granted with everything he does for our family. He is a wonderful Father!
Along with being a wonderful Father he is a great example. He serves in his calling so diligently. Being that he is in the Bishopric, I must be more careful of the things I say around him. One day as I was doodling on the piano I mentioned that I should practice more so that I can help out whenever they need someone to play the piano in Relief Society. Next thing I know I'm being asked to have a second calling of playing two times a month in RS. I am really excited to practice but extremely nervous. I have only had one year of piano and that was when I was in FIFTH OR SIXTH GRADE! I would have loved to continue but my piano teacher decided to stop teaching. I'm grateful that my parents gave us their electronic keyboard. I was the only one of my siblings that wanted to learn.
So I am going by faith! I know I can learn and do well....it would help though if my fingers stopped shaking when I play :)

The Beach

We had a great time in California. The kids did really well on the ride there. I'm always so worried and they always do great. Here are a couple pictures at the beach. I'll post more later but between swimming suits, towels, sweaters, blankets and clothes I'm in the middle of seven loads of laundry (there is sand everywhere :) Refer to the picture of BriLynn at the bottom...she was always this messy.

How cute!

The kids are home for the summer. I'm so excited to have help cleaning the house ha ha. Although...I'm sure it will get dirtier faster now. I wanted to share this cute poem that Andrew's teacher sent home. Ms. Shaw is such an awesome 1st grade teacher. She really connects with the students. Whenever I volunteered I was always impressed how reverent her class is. She would say this in her class "One, Two, Three, Eyes on me" and the class would say "One, Two, Eyes on you" and they would all be quiet and listen. So here is this cute thing she did for the kids on the last day of school

Congrats, the end of 1st Grade is here!!
You deserve a great big, huge, cheer!!
With these glasses, balls, and leis,
You're sure to enjoy the sun's bright rays!!
I'll miss you!!
Enjoy your summer!!
Ms. Shaw

The kids all signed each others balls.
Fun huh?
Here is another picture, just for fun. Luke and BriLynn were best buds on Friday night, I had to catch a picture of them cuddling.

NEW RECORD

My Visiting Teaching is done for the month! It's only the third day, that has to be a new record. :)
I feel very passionately about VT. I had a wonderful companion that gave me the bug when we first moved to Logan. I am forever grateful for her enthusiasm for it. Plus when we were about to have our first baby my sister told me the ward would take care of meals for the first few days. After hearing this I guess I expected it and so when no meals came from my own visiting teachers I was pretty sad. I hope that doesn't sound ungrateful, my sister had told me that she had a week's worth of meals and meals in her freezer. I got a call a week after Danika was born from a member in the Relief Society Presidency. She told me she had contacted my VT's and they were suppose to bring me meals, I informed her that they never did. I had never seen my VT's and I felt almost abandoned in a way. I vowed that I would never make someone feel like that. I did get one meal.....from my loving partner. I only remember her first name, Janette. I wish I could tell her how much she means to me and has helped me to appreciate the visiting teaching program. Almost every month I bring a little treat, a flower or something else to let those I go visiting teaching to know that I'm thinking of them. Why? because I feel so good when my visiting teachers bring me something and I want them to have that feeling. So do your Visiting Teaching ladies ha ha. You really never know how much you could be helping someone.

Life is good

As you can see from the title I'm on a happy kick today...I better relish it while I can because it seems I loose it around lunch time ha ha. I really think it's hormones! It could also be from all the wonderful comments on the last posts. I really appreciate all of you! Thanks for helping me out of me droopy mood.
It seems like it's becoming a tradition for our family to go on a hike on Memorial Day. We went up Logan canyon. I wish I would have taken my camera, it was beautiful. We laughed, we ran, we threw rocks, we ate a picnic, we picked flowers, it was wonderful. Every time I watched the kids I kept feeling like we were missing one. It happened five or six times. I love the thought of having another baby but this one puts us over the top....we will need a new vehicle not to mention a bigger pantry :) Andrew eats three bowls of cereal in the morning, I'm sure by the time he is a teenager he could eat a whole box in one sitting. I think the other thing that made it a great day was I finally got a DENIM NEEDLE!!! That thing went through the seams like butter :) I really should have gotten one last week but I didn't want to run to the store. I should have though, it would have saved me a lot of pain not to mention a couple needles. I did still bust one (one of the seams was to big for it) But to get 12 pairs of short seams sewn felt good.
Last week we went to an awards ceremony the school puts on. Danika got a Safety award and Andrew got a Reading award. About a third of each class gets an award so it was nice that they were both awarded.
I also got the kids summer schedule done. I made an extra copy of the calendar, all the paper crafts and ideas to Mary (she said she would send a signup around in RS for those wanting copies). I figure I spent quite a bit of time on it so if others can use it, well that saves them some time.
