I'm too young for this...

This last Friday the 5th graders had their Maturation program....when did this happen? When did I have a daughter old enough to be in 5th grade going through the "growing up and liking it" class (that's what it was called in my elementary school).
I've talked to her here and there about different things she heard. Such as hormones making us moody. Yesterday she and her team lost their basketball game and she was so upset and was crying.  I told her it was fine and that their team still did great. She said "Your right Mom, I'm just being moody." She is recognizing she can change her attitude, I hope it lasts through the teen years. :)
Now to work on my moodiness ha ha.

I have to write this down so I won't forget  it. Angela shared with me a story about Andrew. Her daughter is in the same class. She said they were talking about being strong and Andrew said that girls can't be strong their girls! I guess all the girls glared at him and Mr Smith told Andrew he should rethink what he said. I can just picture that which makes me laugh :)

Happy Chinese New Year

I love it when there is something to celebrate. So since it's the Chinese New Year today we made paper lanterns.

And fortune cookies. These turned out better than the last time. I tried a different recipe though. I  feel like I don't shape them very well, I guess one can always improve. I also want to try and create one huge fortune cookie (like the size of the cookie sheet) for Kevin. Maybe for Valentines :)

Here is the list I came up with for the fortunes:

Confucius says: If you think you're going to sum up your
life on this little bit of paper, your crazy.

Confucius says: You are not illiterate

Help! I am being held prisoner in a Chinese bakery.

It’s about time I got out of that cookie.

You will receive a fortune cookie.

Ignore previous cookie

Emotions can be sweet and sour....so can your meal :)

Sorry, your fortune is in another cookie.

Your parents love everything about you,
but that doesn't include your messy room.

THAT WASN’T CHICKEN!

Eat me!

Put me down and give your mom a hug
for making fortune cookies!

And thanks to Mr Yoshida we will have sweet and sour meatballs tonight.

I'M DONE!

Tonight's the night....I quit.....I'm done! I thought I could go a little longer but not after today. It's been coming for awhile, about a few weeks ago I thought "I can't do this anymore" but I stuck it out a little while longer.
Okay so maybe I'm being a bit dramatic. But, tonight was the last time.....to nurse a baby. Ever since he got his teeth he has been biting me. At first it wasn't so hard but now....OUCH!!! He thinks it funny the cute little stinker. I figure I've been nursing or pregnant for about nine years. I'm ready to move on to the next phase. Will I miss it......maybe, but not the biting.

This is why I love Sundays!

On Sundays my kids play more with each other than other days. I think it's the rule that no games or TV shows can be watched unless it's church related. Today as I was in the kitchen I heard the kids talking about marriage. I peeked at them and saw them acting out a marriage between Jacob and BriLynn. I snapped the picture with the kissing. Funny funny!!! I reminded them that brothers and sisters don't marry each other ha ha. It made my day....I remember doing pretend weddings when I was younger....aw the memories. My first pretend husbands name was JW.

We Won the Battle

BriLynn has been potty trained for a year or so now and every time she goes number 2 she wants US to wipe her bottom. We figure it's time she does everything by herself, she's three. We have showed her plenty of times how to do it herself so when she yelled for us tonight we told her she needed to do it herself. She stayed on the toilet for a half an hour to 45 minutes. The whole time screaming for us. Man kids can throw tantrums. She finally did it and I'm happy to say that the only little bottom I'll be wiping now is Jonathan. I must say I did throw a little tantrum myself and told Kevin he should take all the kids to the church with him tonight. Yeah....I lost that battle. Oh well...here's a cute picture of my boys...well two of my boys :)
