I don't know about you guys but the biggest thing I have against the winter season is the SICKNESS! Ever since we brought the baby home one of the kids has had something or other. From a sore throat and fever to an ear infection. Thankfully we haven't had the stomach bug (knock on wood). From taking BriLynn into her two week checkup and Jacob to his two year. Luke and Danika have both gone in for Ear infections that's 80 dollars just in co-pays in the last two weeks. Now Jacob has a fever...grr. (Of course it couldn't have been last week when we had his check-up, that would have been to easy). It's hard to know if we should take him in though, he's so little he can't tell us if it's his ears or not. I just hope that it's all coming out now and that we will all be healthy for Christmas. I hope your families are all healthy! I have been giving my kids more vitamin C. My sister swears by this stuff called Emergen-C. Have you heard of it? Do you pump your kids full of vitamins or something else when they are sick?
I thought I would add this video, my sister sent me it an email and I got a good chuckle, hope you do to.

Scott swears by Emergen-C as well. Everytime I am sick he tells me to take some. I usually take Echinacea faithfully during the winter and I hardly ever get a cold/flu. But I don't know if kids can take it or not. I told one of my friends about it and she takes it faithfully and hasn't been sick in 2 years.
That video was funny!
I love Emergen-C when I was on my mission that is what our mission doctor would always tell us to take and ever since then I take it when I get sick plus vitamin C except I don't know if you can have it while nursing I know you can't while pregnant but not sure about nursing. Anyway I like that stuff. Hope your family is all feeling good for Christmas!
Yes increase their Vit C, but not just when they are sick, for the whole winter season, you'll be surprised how much it helps. Also for germs get 'Silver Soft' it is a fome that you put on the child's hands, It kills all kinds of bacteria. it's safe enough to put on coldsores on lips and it lasts for 3 hours. I've always used it on my kids when a new baby is in the house and for chruch on sundays. You wouldn't believe how much it helps.
Love the video! I hope everyone gets feeling better soon! We've been dealing with all of that since Halloween. I just emptied two cans of Lysol on my house. Hopefully that works!
New baby and sick kids....sounds like you are having a great time. Ahhhh, I will stop complaining now.
You just reminded me to start the Vitamin C. My hubby loves Cold MD (recommended to me by a Pharmacist), but since it has herbs in it, you and your kids can't take it. Sorry!
That video was hilarious. I hope you all get well for Christmas. Maybe your getting it now so you won't have it on the 25th?
I feed my kids yogurt and vitamins. Helps with lots of infections!
Oh my heck that's so funny! Thanks for the good laugh!!!!:)
Sorry this isn't in an email. But it's easier to write on this. We're planning the Christmas party. Can Dannica(speeling?) play Mary in the Nativity and your Baby be Jesus? Also, we're assigning everyone a food to bring. Can you bring a large veggie platter? Let me know if this works! We can't wait to see you!
Love ya!
I think emergen-c works! Ever since we heard of the stuff my husband has been taking it every day (he's very prone to throat/sinus infections), and he gets sick much less often, and when he does, it's milder than before.
I wouldn't recommend it for very small children- I tried it on Carlitos, buuuut I guess it's too much for him- a half packet gave him diarrea. BUT I think that there's a children's emergen-c, which we have yet to try.
Good luck with all the illnesses; it must be awful having them circulate around the family, especially with a new baby :/
I hate being sick too!! Lowell and I both have the stomach bug which means it is hard to watch the kids and be hopeful that they don't get it!!! I haven't tried emergen-c but i did buy air born just cause I had herd of it I am tired of being sick so I will try anything good luck to you though!!!
My kids have both had colds - yuck. I had to keep Andrew home from preschool for 3 days (he refuses to take any medicine). I hope we're better by Christmas too :) Funny video!
Hey, what a great picture. Has the snowman family survived? We had a great time building them with you.
