Did I do that?

Today as I was running errands like a crazy women I think I reprimanded an older gentleman. I was at Staples and as I was turning around the guy was standing in my way. I must have thought he was one of my own children because I said "Watch out". It didn't hit me that both my children were in the cart till I got to the car. The guy probably thinks I'm a mean, ornery old woman. Ahhh the joys of motherhood...I think I'm loosing my mind if it's not lost already. Please forgive me if I ever yell at you to "Get out of the way","Pick that up", or "did you flush?" just realize things are out of whack up top.

Funny Kids

I wanted to share this video. The kids love to dance...must get it from Mom he he. Notice how Danika reacts to seeing the camera. Oh and just disregard the end when Andrew hits Luke.
I also wanted to share this story that Danika wrote. I thought it was so funny. It has pictures to go with it but I didn't post them so use your imagination. I'm going to make a copy to send to grandparents because it's just too cute not to share.

Fortunately by Danika Westwood

Fortunately I was going to the skate park with my cousin to go skateboarding.
Unfortunately my cousin was in Missouri and I was in Utah.

Fortunately I had a car.
Unfortunately the car ran out of gas half way there.

Fortunately I found a boat.
Unfortunately the ship sank and my monkey and me landed in the pacific.

Fortunately there was a submarine under the water.
Unfortunately a whale ate the submarine.

Fortunately I was half mermaid.
Unfortunately I didn't know how to work the fin.

Fortunately my monkey (half fish) helped me.
Unfortunately we were in a tidal wave.

Fortunately the water dried up and we were ourselves again.
Unfortunately we had to walk to Missouri the rest of the way and my monkey was tired.

Fortunately we made it and my monkey learned how to skateboard.

THE END

Let the Games Begin!

This is Luke and Andrew's first year of soccer. Andrew is more into it than Luke but not a great deal more. Even if they decide that soccer isn't for them, I hope they at least have a fun time. As for me, I'm already tired from running kids to practices and games. There are a few back to back games and one that will be at the same time so we'll have to split to make it to both. The term soccer mom takes on a whole new meaning to me now ha ha

Luke is a lot like Danika, they both love attention. He would rather get his teammates to laugh than play. We had Danika in after her kindergarten year but she would have rather sat on the sidelines to talk with friends. Luke's coach I really good with the kids and has had numerous practices to get them ready.
Good luck boys!

Easter Party at Grandmas

This last Saturday we went to my Grandma Argyle's house for the annual Easter Party. There was the traditional Easter Egg hunt for the kids and a Pinata. For the adults the traditions are Easter Bingo with prizes. The big boys get to have an Easter Egg hunt too but it's for money. Kevin found the 20 dollar bill this year woo hoo.

You can't really tell from the picture but BriLynn would giggle say "ohhhh" and cover her mouth when someone hit the pinata.

We visited my Grandma Steele too. I wish I would have snapped a picture of both my Grandmas. I'll have to remember the next time we visit. Grandma Steele is getting up there in age and she often repeats things. For being 93 she looks really good though. Its sad because as we start to leave she starts thinking of anything to say to keep us there. She has kept a lot of toys so the kids love to go play there. After a long day the kids were tired and so were we. Kevin snapped a picture of Andrew sprawled out resting on the lawn. Besides an Easter hunt what traditional things do you do with your extended family?

SURPRISE SURPRISE!

As most of you know my....oh dare I say it my....(whisper) 30th birthday was on Friday. I must say I have the most wonderful husband in the world!!!! I can't believe all the effort he went to for a surprise party. It was a HUGE surprise! I was so happy to see so many there, I would have never thought that so many people would come to a birthday party for little ol' me. Thanks Kevin it was the best birthday ever!!!Of course I had to be the first for the pinata. I'm sure I looked ridiculous after being spun around.
The kids loved the pinata and pin the tail on the donkey.

He even had a quiz "How well do you know Sandra" on the tables for people to do and paper and envelopes to write a letter to me. I cried as I read them at home.
Notice the black balloons ha ha very funny!
YUMMY! he he

Thanks to everyone who came and everyones well wishes. Just so you know...next year I'm going backwards. I'll be 29 he he.

Kids Dates

Kevin and I (having five kids) wondered how to make one on one time with each child. We have, in the past, done Mommy and Daddy dates if the kids got 10 mommy and daddy bucks but, we decided this wasn't something they needed to earn. So we took a calendar and set four times a year for each child to have a "date" with Mommy, Daddy, or both. The child gets to choose what the activity is. One of the four is usually a Jazz game. It's good to get one on one talking time with them there and back. It's become a tradition to get ice cream there, which is probably the kids favorite part.
It can be a trip to the park to hang out, getting an ice cream or getting four tokens to play at the Funpark. The dates (besides the Jazz dates) usually only cost 1.00.
Tonight was Jacobs date. He chose to get a hamburger with Daddy (this is after dinner mind you). So off to Wendy's they went to get a hamburger from their dollar menu. Kevin said he scarfed it....I believe he will be the one to eat us out of house and home he he.

So excited!

Today the youth are going to do Baptisms for the Dead. So I asked if I could go too. I haven't been for 15 or more years. I've found five names on the new family search website that needed all the work done for them. I would plan to go and then that lovely time of the month would show up and so I'd postpone it. (sorry more than you needed to know right?) Anyway I'm excited to finally get their work done today. I can just imagine them saying: Get to it Sandra, you have had our names for a few months now, get on the ball!

HAPPY EASTER

It's my 300th post woo hoo. Don't plan on seeing a list of 300 things...I just don't have time or the thought process for those things.
We went to Lees today to see the Easter Bunny. The kids were happy to go around the store for all the candy and prizes. We came home with a free bag of mini bagels which was cool :) We of course had to remind the kids the real reason we celebrate Easter. They know but just like Christmas we don't want them to get caught up in commercialization. How joyful to know about the Resurrection. "He is not here: for he is risen. Matthew 28:6 Have a Happy Easter! and Conference Weekend!

APRIL FOOLS

So I have to say that I didn't always get such a kick out of April Fools. It has been increasing from year to year. Here are some of the tricks played so far. I wrote on the Toilet paper "Help, I'm trapped in the Toilet Paper Factory" It was great because Danika was the one that found it. She screamed after she read it. I stuffed paper towels in shoes. Kevin was funny to watch. He didn't think much of the first shoe after he pulled it out but when the second shoe was a tight fit he knew it was me he he. I put food coloring in the kids bowls this morning and put their cereal in. Once we poured the milk in it changed colors. I had to laugh because Danika before we ate said she was expecting a trick since last year I had "orange juice" that was actually orange jello. I'm hoping this one will be funny for the kids. I sent them to school with their lunch bags but no food. On the note I also have that their lunch is actually in the office and to go get it (I called the Secretary yesterday to see if she would hold them for me). I put the rock in it so it felt heavy like their really was something in it. Then I sent Kevin off to work with this on his truck. I stuck it on with magnets.
Did you pull any pranks? Happy April Fools!
