Andrew's done

Andrew has finished Kindergarten woo hoo! He has been such a good student. I have been impressed with how well he is reading. It's fun to see the differences between children. Here he is with his wonderful teacher Mrs. Hadfield.

Help...

First of all I wanted to post a picture I thought was funny. BriLynn is now six months....WOW!!! I love the look on her face, it's like she's thinking "help, my brothers are crazy!" Their faces make me laugh. The shirt she is wearing in the picture is one I made for Danika when she was a baby eight years ago. Sigh... Anyway, lately Andrew has been asking sooooooo many questions. It's mostly about the words we say. Like this morning when we were reading the scriptures about Alma and Nehor, he asked what the word "boldly" meant. After we mentioned it means he strongly defended himself (talking about Nehor when he is brought before Alma). Then he asks, "what does defend mean?" It seems like it continues on because the words we use to describe the other words he doesn't understand. Do you run into this problem? I mean really, how many words can you use to describe the word "persuade" or to describe "soft" to a child? The English vocabulary is so vast "whats vast?"

Fun Fun Fun

Our neighbors have a tramp and the kids are constantly asking to go over. They don't have the back part of their fence up so I hesitate letting Jacob go for fear he would wander off. Then tears would come and I'd feel bad because the poor boy just wants to jump and play with the other kids. Kevin and I have been talking about getting one for awhile and so we jumped (no pun intended) when it came on sale. It was worth it. The kids spent most of their day on it yesterday. I like that it has the enclosure too for the little ones. It also came with an inflatable Jump and Jam (a basketball hoop and a ball).
Of course we had to put the sprinkler on underneath. Our neighbors spent most of the day over here too. I got on and could still do a back flip but freaked myself out trying to do a front flip. I think it stems from when I was younger. I did one on my friends tramp and hit the pole with my neck. It knocked the wind out of me. I'll have to keep practicing. I hope you all have a great Memorial Day.

Awards

Andrew and Danika got invitations to an awards night at their school. Andrew's was Tuesday night, when we went he was restless in his seat and kept saying "call my name, call my name". He just beamed as they gave him the "Successful" award. Danika's award night was Wednesday. Unfortunately we just got the invite to go to Danika's today...a day late. She brought it home today and she was awarded "The Most Improved" award. Her improvement in reading from the beginning of the year is amazing. I blame myself for not making her read more last summer but she is on a roll now and I don't think it will be a problem this summer. I think this awards night is nice, the kids feel so special. We love you cute kids, congrats!

Fathers and Sons

I wanted to share this comment that Kevin told me this weekend. He took the boys to the Father and Sons campout. He ended up taking Jacob. We had debated on him taking him since he is so little. Turns out he had to ask a couple of the guys to find him after he took off (pretty embarrassing). Anyway onto the funny...Luke loves smores. Kevin put two on a stick and told him to roast them. He had to run to the tent to get a flashlight and when he was done he turned around to find Luke holding the roaster stick with nothing but a black charcoal on one side. He looked innocently to Kevin and said "daddy is it done yet?"

Fun Adventure

This morning Tina called with a fun idea for taking pictures of the kids.
Bridget the damsel in distress tied to the tracks.
The rescuer with his damsel. His mighty steed is with him, he kinda blends into his pants.
This is Andrew the evil Villain
Here are the cast members
I love this picture. Bridget and Lukie are so cute. Before I asked them to hold hands Bridget was trying to give Lukie a dandelion. As she tried Lukie said "I don't want to get married." So apparently if you give someone flowers they want to marry you he he.
I can't wait to see what Tina does with the pictures she took. She's a great photographer ;) Though it was a bit crazy with two babies screaming and Jacob being hit with a rock, we had fun. Thankfully no trains came by too.

Edible Pacman

Guess who decided to do this for the FHE treat tonight.

If you guessed Andrew your correct. The silly boy has been so into pacman lately. What are your kids into lately? Although, the other night when Kevin was getting him into bed he said. "Dad I don't want a Laptop for Christmas anymore, I want Bockugan." Whew, that saves us a couple hundred! he he. Are your kids already making lists for Christmas too? Well I now need to work on getting Luke into something besides Star Wars. He is constantly trying to use the force on people and says "Meet your destiny" to them. Jacob hates it when he does it to him. He punched Luke in the cheek after he did it yesterday. Of course it was a naughty thing to do but Kevin couldn't help but laugh. He's a cute little brute.
