A great getaway.

It seems like you learn more and more as you take trips together as a family. Well this last weekend we went to Fairview to Kevin's Grandparents cabin. Here are some pictures of our fun getaway and the things we learned.








Oopsies and uhh ohhs:
-Get directions on how to get gas fireplace to work. Space heaters and oven do okay for heat but the fireplace would have been nice. (It got pretty cold at night)
-Bring more than one binky. The one we had was lost the first night we were there. Weening from that away from home is not the best idea.
-Prepare to come home to four loads of laundry.
-Bring another pair of shoes for kids (a few fell into the water and got wet).
-Probably not a smart idea to take five small children on a hike up a steep mountain (tough terrain refer to pictures)
-Don't leave a seven year old with a BB gun. (It's broke now)

WOO HOO's and How fun:
-Kids actually survived while being away from the computer and video games. (Although it's the first thing Jacob wanted to do when we got home)
-Food always tastes so much better when your in the mountains.
-Watching your daughter catch her first fish at the same place you caught your first fish (while pregnant with her) is an awesome experience.
-Hiking as a family brings a sense of closeness.
-Little things like seeing a ton of sheep being herded across the road can be so entertaining for kids and Mom.
-Watching your children's excitement at hitting a pop can with a BB gun is priceless.
-You never mind eating a burnt smore when it's made by a child.
-Spending time in the outdoors with those you love is very peaceful and wonderful!
