Pics, teeth and school

We had our family pictures taken last Saturday. I think the pictures we got worked considering BriLynn was tired and Jacob was not wanting to stand still for two seconds. They were just a seven dollar package so I can't complain.
Teeth wise... Andrew lost another tooth last Friday. I don't think we've ever had to play tooth fairy twice in one week.
Now for school... When I went walking this morning, Mary and I were talking about traditions for school starting. Does your family do any? Certain breakfasts you prepare? Or things you do the night before? We do Fathers blessings the night before. I think it would be fun to do something for them that morning besides a delicious breakfast so if you have any ideas I would love to hear them. Oh and I also want to do a last hooray for Summer. So next Monday from 1-3 your welcome to come with your kids to have a water party at my house. Plus the kids may wear themselves out and get a good nights rest for school the next day ha ha.

I love your picture, it is so cute, and your kids cooperated very well. As far as school we do the fathers blessing too, I would like something fun to, I will watch your posts and see what everyone has to say! Good luck with your first day!

I love your family pictures! I wish it was that easy to do colors for us but unfortunately Frank is the only boy so I can't just have him wearing one color and all of us girls in another...it would probably look weird! I want to do JCP pictures but also want do to outdoor pictures too in September or October when the canyon starts to turn colors. I will have to pay more but oh well!

Darn! The kids and I may be in town this week, but not on Monday. Unfortunately we have a million things to do while we have stores around...

Your pictures are SO cute! Where do you get a $7 package? We need to have ours done soon.

As for Back-to-school traditions, we do father's blessings the night before also.

Last year for breakfast I tried cutting a shape out of a piece of bread with a cookie cutter, putting the bread in a frying pan, and frying an egg in the hole. It sort of worked. I think I may try Tina's picture pancakes this year, just for fun. Or maybe I'll do Orange Julius for their drink.

We ate at Denny's while on vacation, and the kids loved getting "baseball pancakes". It was just a round pancake, and it looked like they'd put jelly or jam in a container with a tip and squiggled the stitching on. Super easy.

For the past two years I've made peanut butter and jelly surprise muffins for after-school snack (the recipe is on Familyfun.com). At first I thought they sounded gross, but when I made them I actually kind of liked them.

Let me know if you find any other fun idea's.

I give each of our boys a new book on their first day of school. I write a letter to each of them in the front cover of their book telling them how proud I am of their hard work and to encourage them in the coming school year. You can check it out on my blog under the Works for Me section, I call them Loving Legacy Books.

And I love the family pictures!

Precious Photos!! I wish I felt more excited for Jakob to start school. I am really struggling with it... I'm sure I'll be fine once it starts. Leif says that his family were given father's blessings and they took photos the morning of the first day of school (every year!) I really like the book idea too.
