You know they want Summer to come when...

The kids make a makeshift campfire. With pine cones as the firewood and leafs instead of marshmallows. Luke of course asked if he could really light it on fire but yaa I'm sure you know what I answered to that. (Although the leaf in the picture with the way the light is hitting it, looks like it's on fire.) They called themselves the BYU scouts and made their own little chant. I was doing yard work and didn't even see what they were doing. When I heard them all singing I had to grab my camera I thought it was cute. I have fond memories of making and trying to sell mud pies as a kid. What fun things do you remember doing as a child?

Happy Birthday Danika

Okay I have to tell you that I'm pretty proud of this cake. It started out as a sheet cake. I was planning on decorating a butterfly on that but as I was frosting it, it was crumbling (you know how the top comes off with the frosting?). I couldn't get it to look at all decent. So I mixed it all together then molded it into the shape of a butterfly. Decorated the top and taa daa.
Jacob got her a Barbie with a car.
A Poochi pup she got from AndrewShe enjoyed all her presents (thanks to Grandma and Grandpa's too). I really liked the dress she got from my sisters, I wish they made one my size :)
It's hard to believe that I have a nine year old. How in the world did I become old enough to have a nine year old ha ha. Just yesterday she came to me and said she was worried about marriage. My nine year old is stressing about getting married???? "Wo, sista, it's years away, don't worry about it." We love you Danika and are so glad you are a part of our family. You are a little mommy and help me out so much. Thanks for sharing your sweet smile with us.

Excursions

I figured I better wrap up the cruise stuff before I forgot. I was amazed at the history of the Tulum Ruins in Cozumel. It's really neat to think about it in Church history terms.
There are iguanas all over.I took a picture of this graveyard because I thought it was neat. The people of Belieze are very protective of the dead. They are still buried four feet under but they have the graves above so they won't be walked over. In Belize we had to walk up to where we entered the cave. This is a termite nest. We saw a bunch hanging from the trees. The guides said to stick your finger in...
Okay so this is really hard to see but at the end of the guys finger is a termite. They were eating them!!! AHHH the girl by us that tried it said it had a mint flavor...can you say ewwwwww! Sorry, I'm willing to try different things but termite isn't on my list thanks.
Before entering the cave.
I was amazed at the length of the cave. We were in it for probably forty minutes. The next time Kevin and I want to go snorkeling. I am even more amazed at this wonderful earth we have to live on. There are so many places I would love to visit. Where would you like to go?

Prepare yourself

So my sister told me I needed to get on the ball and post more pics. I'm warning you...there's a lot I hope you don't get bored. I thought I would post the entertainment part. These two were amazing. They took hula hoops and did so many cool tricks with them. At one point the girl had eight hula hoops and was spinning them while skating.
This slinky was pretty cool.I find it amazing that a cruise ship can have a ice rink, mini golf, basketball court and so much other stuff. We played a lot of ping pong. We did a doubles competition but we got beat out, Kevin was pretty bummed ha ha.

Ready to climb the rock wall.

This is our dinner group. We told the couple there that we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. They said they were celebrating their 30th but it wasn't for a few months.
"Oh really? That is the same with us. When is your anniversary?"
"May 9th."
That is our anniversary date. How coincidental that it was the same day. We also found that the guys birthday is the same as BriLynn. Oh and I also tried Escargot for the first time. It actually wasn't that bad.
Do these two look familiar to you?
How about now? They are the Nelson twins. The ship had a tribute to Ricky Nelson (their father) So I have to tell you I didn't know who they were at first. Then they showed the picture of them with the long blond hair and I almost screamed. I remember hearing them when I was younger and since my sister and I were twins we would always pick which one we liked ha ha. They really put on a great show. Shows how crazy life can be...you go from singing number one hits to singing on a cruise ship. ha ha.

Cruise pics

To put it shortly...Kevin and I had a great time and not so great time. You can now look at the pictures or if you want an explanation read on.

The shore excursions were great. We had a fun time. I'll post those pictures on another post. Then came the last full day of the cruise....Kevin got a stomach bug. So we were stuck in our stateroom for the whole day. I wasn't feeling so great either. I'm blaming the buffet the night before. We ate too much. It's a good thing we did the rock wall and golfing and things before then. We also missed the Lobster that was served that night :( We now have Hannah Montana, Star Trek and Race to Witch Mountain memorized ha ha. Those were the movies playing over and over again.
We are actually at the Miami airport right now. Another (not-so great thing) is that our flight doesn't leave till 5:25. We got here around noon. Thank goodness for airport internet. I wasn't smart in booking the flights. On our way to Florida I didn't want to have to pay for a hotel so I had us leave late so we would make it in the morning. Ya...not wise. We probably got three to four hours of sleep. Anyway, here are some pictures of our first day. This was a chandelier as you entered the royal promenade it was pretty. Those smiles are tired smiles.
If something were to happen, Kevin was ready he he.

This was the view from our balcony
I thought these were pretty cool. The watermelons were all carved into shapes. Can you see the fish in the back?
More to come...

Happy Birthday Lukie ookie.

Today our little Luke turned FIVE! I can't believe he will be in kindergarten in the fall. He started his day by playing with his friend Max (Thanks Heather, he had a lot of fun!) When I was growing up my Mother would always let us choose what we wanted for our birthday dinner. He wanted Pizza. The kids always have fun watching daddy toss the pizza. They made their own personal pizza's too. He wanted Spiderman on his cake. He also wanted a blue cake so, I died a white cake blue. I think it turned out fun.
He got some fun gifts. Here he is playing with the transformers he received from Grandma and Grandpa Westwood.

BriLynn is such a cheese, we told Luke to smile for a picture and she kept doing this. Happy Birthday Luke. Thank you for sharing your joy for life with us. Your smile is a ray of sunshine. We love you Lukie Ookie.
