Mental Breakdown

I feel like my emotions are out of control. One minute I'll be happy and then the next a nagging, ornery mom. I feel bad, I'm sure my kids feel like they are walking on eggshells. Tonight I had to apologize to the kids. They looked broken and my heart ached as they told me I wasn't being a nice mommy. I told them how my hormones were all out of whack and that mommy would try better to control my emotions. The nice outcome from those little fights are the making up part. We all had a good talk on how we can all do better to have a happier spirit in our home.

Later as I was putting Lukie to bed we were talking about how the baby will be here in six days. Then he asked "the question"

"Mom how do they get the baby out of your tummy"

I already had this conversation with my eight year old a few weeks ago.
I didn't expect my six year old to ask. He took the information better than the older two, he didn't seem shocked at all.

I understand all too well.

I've been thinking about you the past few days. I hope all goes well with your delivery and recovery. I wish I could be there to help in some way.

Are you being started, or is it your due date in six days?

Bless your heart. It is so hard to keep it all together and continue to prepare. I feel your pain.

I hope all goes well with the delivery. You will be in my prayers.

We will move out on May 8th. We will be fine if we cannot sell our place...but being the control freak that I am...I want it sold!

I'm being started. My in laws will be here and it will be so nice to not worry about who will take care of the kids. My actual due date is the 30th so only a couple days ahead of time.

Six days!! Eeek! Good luck with everything!

Yeah, my oldest two know the answer to that question, too. It didn't really even faze them. Have any of your kids asked the other side to that question? "How does the baby get IN?" Thankfully, my kids that have asked have been too young to know the entire answer. But now my oldest is probably old enough, but I don't know how to tackle that one. Any suggestions?

It is so nice to have a plan. I hope everything goes smoothly for you & baby. I can't wait to see photos! I'm guessing he will probably be blonde. :)

Sandra, I'm actually relieved to hear you say this - because just last night I was a nagging, ornery mom! Chris has been out of town the last two weeks (and will be for at least one more) and I snapped. Which is sad because my mom and sister have been here to help out! I just have to say that I have always thought you were one of the sweetest and kindest people I've ever met - and I still think that :) When I have moments like that I sink into the mind set that I'm just a mean person, so it's nice to know that I'm not the only one. So excited for your family and the new baby! Can't wait to see pics! Oh, and I'm very impressed that you've been able to answer that big question - I've dodged the bullet by having c-sections. Explaining that hasn't been so bad, hee hee :)

IT's funny how fast word travels. WE haven't told anyone yet, but yes that is us. Ben has work until July 2nd as of today but that could change each day. It depends on if the parents of his boys want them to stay of if they are going to pull them out of the program early. so it's a day to day thing right now. When it rains it pours and then sometimes lightening comes too. :] thanks for thinking of us, you're very sweet. :]
