Yaa for a girly room

I finally got Danika's room painted on Saturday, I guess I can say the "girls" room. Kevin had to work so I'm proud to say I did it all by myself. We kept the ceiling how it was (sky blue looking) and this is how it turned out.

I used huge dot stickers to make flowers. These stickers are awesome, they are so easy to apply and can be removed and stuck other places multiple times before they loose their stickiness. Now the boys want their room done. Luke likes green and Andrew likes Blue. Not sure what I'll do with that but if any of you have ideas I would love to hear them. I'm not creative when it comes to this stuff. I hope you all have a great week! I'm excited to put Halloween Decorations up this week :)

A Break Please!

It's a date night tonight and it's a good thing too after what happened this afternoon. Here is a little explanation:
(Kevin coming home for lunch from work)
Me: I don't think you want to be at home for lunch today.
Kevin: Why?
Me: Jacob just dumped a gallon of blue koolaid I just made all over the floor.
Kevin: Oh no
Me: Ya, I got it all wiped up but I'll have to mop it like four times to get all the stickiness gone.
Kevin: Well did you get a picture of it before you cleaned it up to put on your blog?

Does anyone want to go with me tonight?

Gratefulness

Lately it's been depressing to watch the news. The economy well....is going downhill. Not to mention all the horrible acts of violence. It seems like everyday I hear about another business shutting down. Today I heard on the radio that unemployment is at the highest it's been in seven years. I'm grateful for the gospel, grateful that the Prophets have taught us to prepare with food and savings. Who knows what may come, but I know that we will be okay if we heed their council.

Nesting?

Today I have had a burst of energy.
I got up early
Got all the kids dressed and ready for the day
Made waffles for breakfast
Made Danika's Lunch
Made copies and got some File Folder Games Laminated
Went Grocery Shopping
Vacuumed and armoralled the car
Swept and vacuumed the garage out
Fed the boys
Helped Andrew with his Homework
Mowed the Lawn
Picked vegetables from the garden
Scrubbed the sink
and now I have the urge to go through the kids clothes and bake bread.
I have heard that some women get strange urges. Like taking the knobs off cupboard doors to clean the SCREWS that hold them together. Do you get nesting urges? Have you ever done something strange?

One Last Hurrah!

Luke has been begging to go camping! (I think it's the SMORES!) Since the summer is officially over on Monday we though this weekend would be a good time for one last family camp out. We went to Spring Hollow this time. We were surprised that a few of the sites up the canyon were already closed for the year. We went on a hike the next morning and I kick myself for not taking the camera, it was beautiful!!! We didn't sleep the greatest, but with four kids and being prego who would right? I didn't drink much the night before for fear that I would have to wake up to go to the bathroom....any of you do that while camping? Plus Danika woke up with growing pains in her legs, do any of your kids get these? I did manage to get these few photos. I just wanted to add that while Tina was over here today, Danika had asked to get her swimming suit on and play like she was sun bathing. A few minutes ago I took this picture, this is what she was up to. You may not be able to tell but she hung up a picture of the sun in the left hand corner and then has waves on both sides next to her. She made a little cup with a straw out of paper. Creative...now all the other kids want to get their suits on ....umm I don't think they are ready for the summer to be over yet either.

Back in School

So I think that while pregnant you can still have your "time of the month." Little things set me off, I'm craving chocolate and breaking out. It's like I'm back in High School! (Don't forget to turn the music off at the bottom)

He He. I just love Kevin's face, it's not cropped well for his mouth but it still cracks me up!

The power of a child's prayer

Sorry to scare you with this picture, who knows whats up with the boys huge fingers. Anyway, I don't know how many of you know, but our game cube stopped working around the beginning of July. Kevin had taken it apart, tried to fix it and to no avail. Andrew was crushed but I was happy I didn't hear him ask me everyday to play. Well last week as Andrew was saying his bedtime prayer he prayed that the game cube would work. He asked Daddy if he could try it out the next day and well.....it started working again. We were all pretty shocked. Once again I'm asked everyday if he can play. I'm thinking I'll need to pray for the game cube to accidentally fall apart and burn.

Just a Thought

I received this in an email from my sister and thought I would share.

A man was being tailgated by a woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman slammed on the brakes and leaned on the horn. She opened her window, stuck her hand out and made a gesture, all the while screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection with him. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, 'I'm very sorry for this mistake. you see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'Choose The Right' license plate holder, the 'Families are Forever' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome plated Angel Moroni emblem on the trunk..... Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car.'

Do our actions show we follow Christ? Think about what you do! I know I need to watch my actions more closely. It may not be this extreme, but you get the point.

Time Out

I'm so excited for this weekend. My twin sister Susan and my Mother are coming to go to Time Out For Women up at the University. My other two sisters living here will also be going.I've never been to one but I heard they are wonderful so I'm excited for it. When I told Andrew that the reason they were coming was to go to "Time out for Women" with us. He replied, "Why do you all need to go to time out?"
Speaking of funny kids, I hope my friend Nat will forgive me for sharing this story she shared on her blog. I laughed so hard. I cut some things to make it shorter (forgive me Nat).

About a month after we moved into our house, we got a kitten named Geisha. Three weeks after that, she met her demise when she met two pit-bull dogs. We got another cat and the boys named him Peanut Butter.
We had to take Peanut Butter in to get “fixed”. Andrew and Jimmy were with us for the day, and Levi asked one of them what “neutered” was. Wanting Levi to remain as innocent as possible, the twin replied, “Not ‘neutered’. ‘Tutored’. Peanut Butter is nuts. He lost his mind!” Crisis averted!

Peanut Butter healed and life moved on. About a week after his “procedure”, I stood by the open window at the kitchen sink doing the dishes. I overheard Levi and his friend, Chance, talking and playing in the flower bed. Chance asked, “What’s your cat’s name?” Levi replied, “Peanut Butter”
“Is he creamy or chunky peanut butter?”
Levi innocently answered, “Oh, he’s creamy. He used to be chunky, but then he lost his nuts!”

I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

It's finally ready!

When we bought our house six years ago, I had started to take down the wallpaper in Danika's room. I don't know what they used to put it on but it was like super glue!!! I got one wall done and was so discouraged I had stopped. Well, as we finished the basement Kevin told me to wait on finishing taking down the wallpaper till we got that done. (One project at a time) So since the rest of the house is finished and painted it was time to start on the top floor's three bedrooms. It took me ALL day Saturday to take it down. Let me just tell you my feet hurt from being on a ladder all day. I don't want to see another horsey wallpaper EVER AGAIN!!!
On a happy note, I can now focus on how to paint it. I want to get it done before the baby is born. That's where you guys come in....have any fun ideas. Ideas that are easy! We will be doing the boys and girls room so any ideas would be great. It's strange to say Girl(s).
