Just a Thought

I received this in an email from my sister and thought I would share.

A man was being tailgated by a woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman slammed on the brakes and leaned on the horn. She opened her window, stuck her hand out and made a gesture, all the while screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection with him. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, 'I'm very sorry for this mistake. you see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'Choose The Right' license plate holder, the 'Families are Forever' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome plated Angel Moroni emblem on the trunk..... Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car.'

Do our actions show we follow Christ? Think about what you do! I know I need to watch my actions more closely. It may not be this extreme, but you get the point.

I totally agree. I work with a lot of non members and I want to reflect what I believe and not be a bad example of what my beliefs stand for (I hope that came out right). I am a people watcher and I sometimes forget that a lot of people are, and I'm a lot more conscience about how I act when I remember that I'm setting an example.

AND...Scott couldn't come to the game today so there was an extra ticket. If Kevin ever wants to drive all the way to Provo for a game and even bring one of the boys, between my parents tickets and my sister's family tickets (which are next to each other), there is always at least 2 extra tickets that just go to waste. So let me know if he's ever serious about going to a game. I got the "sweet hookups."

I love it! That is my story with motherhood right now. We joke that Jakob is my echo. If I say something "strong" I'll have an echo for sure!
The power of example!
So how did Time Out go????

Sandra, I found you!! I often have to watch myself and the example I set too. I think it's something we can all improve on.
It was so good to see you yesterday!!!

nice thought. After just being on a trip out of state and driving the whole way, there is definately a big difference between Utah drivers and Oregon/Washington drivers. They are MUCH more courteous. I drove in Portland and Seattle just fine, busy traffic and all, then I return to SLC and the traffic is crazy...what is going on here? I don't want to be thought of as the aggressive, jerky, Utah driver. What is the problem here?
