We went camping with the kids this last weekend. They were sooooooo excited, they were asking everyday if this was the day we would be leaving. We had a good time, roasted hot dogs for dinner and made smores.
The only sad part was that Lukie burnt his finger by picking up a coal off the dutch oven when we were making peach cobbler.
This picture doesn't do it justice, I took it a few days after and the blister had already peeled off. He got one on his thumb too, the one he sucks to go to bed so that wasn't fun. The next day Kevin made a great breakfast; pancakes, eggs and bacon ummm. He inherited a road trip grill when his Grandma Stanger past away and that has come in handy when camping. We both agreed though that we need to go for more than one night. We stopped and went fishing for a little bit before heading home. After everyone was cleaned up we went to Salt Lake to see Kevin's sister Karin. She lives in Missouri with her family and the kids were excited to see their cousins Joseph and MaKayla.
I had to take a picture of the girls, it was funny to me that they were both missing their two front teeth.
A fun weekend! We need to have more before school starts!!!

I can't believe you are camping with 4 kids and one soon on the way. Where do you get your energy? :) I agree though on the one night thing. Sometimes it seems like too much of a hassle to go for just one night... you spend so much time getting ready, setting up, and cleaning up that you don't get to just enjoy it. The last time we went we spent a few days and I got to actually read a book by the river. :) It was great. Glad you had a good time and sorry about little Luke's finger. I hope he's doing better.

looks like you had fun, and as for the burns we know all about that. two years ago when we were camping logan tried to pick up the dutch oven with his bare hands!! It was so bad! those poor kids!
Camping is so fun and those are the things your kids will always remember. I'm glad you guys got to see Karin while she was here. I guess you got to see them 2 months ago but it's still good to see them every chance you can! Wish we could have been there, I was stuck cleaning. :(
We went camping this weekend too. What fun times. I wish we would have done more things like this throughout the summer.
I love the toothlessness. MaKayla has already grown hers back in and she looks a lot different than she did a year ago.
