I wouldn't want to imagine this world without friends. Friends make life fun! This Monday we went up the canyon to have a dutch oven dinner with friends. We had the kids put together a nature collage of leafs, berries, or anything else they could find.
They had fun playing with friends while we chatted about anything from Vegas to the use of deodorant. I found out that one of my friends doesn't use it. I was shocked because for one she'd never smelled bad (not that I really tried to smell her) and two because I thought everyone used it. She said if you go without it your body will become accustomed to the change. So my question today is...... do you wear deodorant? he he Speaking about deodorant my little boy (Jacob) had to mow the lawn with me yesterday. It was sort of a pain but even though his head kept whacking the side he never let go until it was done. When we got inside I changed my shirt and put more deodorant on. He wouldn't leave the bathroom and kept pointing to the cupboard, I finally got my deodorant out and asked him if that's what he wanted. UHHHH....(he's still not talking much) but the smile and giggle gave it away and as soon as I put some on him he was happy and left. Crazy kid, only a year old and worried about perspiration.

The Jacob think cracks me up! Love it. On the subject of deodorant... I did know one boy in High School that always said "if you use soap, you don't need deodorant" - I thought it a bit odd. Not sure if he changed his mind and wears it now or not, but I guess its not as uncommon as I thought.
BTW, thanks for the bread. Bridget took it in the house and torn into it before I even made it in from talking to Shauntae. lol! She likes it too. :)
Ummmm....I only wear it when I run or if it is a stressful day. I read once that it was possible that deodorant might be the cause of breast cancer...so I only use it if I need it!! Is that gross, I figure if I don't sweat, I don't need it.
I'm from Vegas and Texas, two places that you sweat while sitting still...so yeah, I wear it. ;)
And that bread was really good, I already finished it off!
How interesting...I have never heard any of those things about deodarant. As a teen I didn't think there was any deodarant that would work good enough for me..poor teenage years....
I wish I didn't have to use it though because it sure "stinks" when you forget it. Hehe
First of all, you are a VERY patient mother to let Jacob "help" you. Second, what are you doing mowing the lawn? You be careful!!! Your bun still needs to cook a while longer ;).
I grew up in a humid state too and won't go without deo! I even layer it on pretty thick. I can't stand feeling sticky under my arms.
One of my brother's served his mission in Japan and he said they didn't even sell deoderant...they didn't need it. It apparently was because of their diet. We Americans don't eat healthy enough, I guess.
Deodorant is a must. It's like brushing my teeth, just part of EVERY day. Emme likes to pretend to put it on too. Italians sell deodorant, but it's not the antiperspirant kind like we have. So basically it's just covering up the nasty body odor without actually preventing/lessening the sweat. And they REEK. I'm not saying this about anyone in particular, but I have noticed that a lot of people don't seem to notice their own body odor when it's readily apparent to the people around them. So to all the non deodorant wearers out there, make sure you ask an honest loved one if he or she can smell you or not before you mingle with the rest of us deodorant wearers. Then again, some blessed souls come with few underarm sweat glands. Life just isn't fair.
Um, yeah, I always wear deodorant. Todd teases me because if I shower at night I put deodorant on before I go to bed. It's just part of the routine.
Matthew McConaughey (one very good looking actor) never wears deodorant. But I always wear it, I freak out if I forget, I hate smelling bad!
I use deodorant, though I did go through a few years that I couldn't use it at all- I had some wierd recurring infection under the arms, which is kind of a scary thought considering I was on my mission during part of that time! In PANAMA- soooo hot! But thank goodness for SIIIIILLLLLVER!! (remember that time at the playground, our conversation somehow got to colloidal silver...) The silver did not prevent me from sweating, but it did prevent the stink and keep the infections at bay! Cool, huh :)
I am a religious deodorant wearer. Sometimes I feel like I have perma-deodorant in my arm pits, because I use so much. I too like Felicia, put it on after every shower. And like Tina, I had a hard time find one that worked well as a teenager. I think it was because as a teenager there was a lot of nervous sweat. That is by far the smelliest and least preventable, in my opinion. Now that I am older and don't care what people think (I don't care if I go shopping with out even showering for the day.) I don't sweat like I used to. I am sure you wanted to know all of this, but you did ask.....
Great, so I am weird!
SUPER!
Wow..... its's an interesting story about you & your deodorant.
fun idea with the church bags! I'm not on the activities or the enrichment committes, they just asked me to be incharge of super saturday. So crazy busy! :]
You know what's funny. I stopped wearing regular deoderant this summer. I did it because it can be dangerous and I was sick of clogged pores. At first it was yucky because my system was regulating itself after a LONG LONG time of constant deoderant coverage. I used my homemade lavender powder. But now my body doesn't really even smell. I did buy Tom's natural deoderant for the yuck days:) Now you know the goods on me;)
