Danika's First Day as a Second Grader

Kids grow up way too fast. I find myself saying that more and more. It's depressing in some ways (their need for Mamma slowly depleting) and exciting also (watching them grow and do more things). The fist thing she said when we picked her up was "I Love School!" I'm glad, I would feel bad if she didn't look forward to it.

She's got a pretty huge grin! I guess she does love school... that's great!

Sorry, I had a typo...it was driving me crazy.

Anyway, what I was trying to say is:

I'm glad that she and Ethan have the same teacher this year. We're going to have some rockin' class parties this year!

That is funny that "Mother of the wild boys" has a son named Ethan! I have often thought of myself as the "mother of the wild boys", and the most wild is my Ethan!

I was sad to send my guys off too. I was surprised when Levi came home and said that after lunch he really felt like he needed a hug, and I wasn't there. Yesterday I kissed both of his palms and told him to save those "loves" for later. He came home from school and said he used them! I thought that was sweet. Even though they are getting bigger and more independent, they still need their mommies!

Cute little curls on a cute little girl. I love the big smile!! Congratulations Danika on being a big 2nd grader.

I understand the need of mom going away. I have looked forward to the girls coming home all day. I sat outside and watched for the bus anxiously waiting for them. The bus came and I expected them to come running, but no, they hung out with their friends on the sidewalk for a few minutes. I guess we just have to get used to it!

It's hard to believe she's a second grader already! Way to go, Danika!
